Do you have flash sales?

Yes.

We usually host one themed flash event each month, announced on our Facebook and Instagram pages. We also stay open later on Friday and Saturday evenings and often run flash specials during those nights.

Individual artists may also offer discounts on available designs or flash from time to time. Following both the shop and individual artists on social media is the best way to stay up to date.

How should I prepare for my tattoo?

We send a detailed tattoo prep email prior to your appointment, but here are a few key tips:

  • Get plenty of rest the night before your appointment.

  • Stay hydrated and eat a substantial meal at least 2 hours prior.

  • Clean the area to be tattooed thoroughly, but do not shave it.

  • Avoid spray tans, sunbathing, or anything that may damage the skin — we cannot tattoo sunburned or damaged skin.

  • Wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the tattoo area. Accidents do happen, so wear clothing you don’t mind getting ink on.

What should I bring to my appointment?

What you bring depends on the length of your appointment, but we recommend:

  • Water and snacks (we also have water and snacks available in the shop).

  • A sweatshirt or blanket for longer sessions — body temperature can drop during tattooing.

  • A government-issued photo ID — we cannot tattoo without valid ID.

Can you tattoo over scars, stretch marks, acne, or other skin conditions?

It depends on the severity and healing of the skin.

  • Scars and stretch marks can usually be tattooed once fully healed and no longer pink (often a couple of years old).

  • Tattooing over active acne is not recommended. Healed acne scars may be tattooed but can require touch-ups.

  • Keratosis Pilaris (KP) can often be tattooed, though touch-ups may be needed.

  • Areas affected by inflammatory conditions such as eczema or psoriasis should not be tattooed until fully treated and healed.

Your artist will evaluate the area during consultation.

I’m under 18 — can I get tattooed with my parent’s permission?

It is illegal in the state of Oregon to tattoo any minor, regardless of parental consent.

Are the inks your artists use vegan-friendly?

Yes our inks we use at Whiteaker Tattoo are vegan friendly.

What if I am diabetic?

Please inform your artist if you are diabetic.

This allows us to use appropriate inks and products and to take additional care to ensure your comfort and safety during the session.

Will your artists tattoo other people’s artwork?

In general, yes — with permission from the original artist.

We will not directly copy another tattoo artist’s custom designs. If you find artwork online that you love, our artists are happy to create a similar but unique design that works well as a tattoo and is original to you.

Can I use a numbing cream?

If you are interested in using a numbing cream, you must discuss this with your artist in advance and follow their recommendations.

Do not arrive with numbing cream already applied. Doing so will result in forfeiting your appointment and deposit.

Over-the-counter numbing creams purchased by clients can cause serious issues, including chemical burns. Only artist-approved or shop-approved products following FDA guidelines will be considered. This policy is firm.

Are you open for walk-ins?

Yes.

We are open for walk-ins daily, during posted shop hours.
We may also open earlier or stay later by appointment.

Walk-ins and appointments are welcome.
Suzen books by appointment only.
